CRITICAL INFORMATION REGARDING WEB HOSTING - IF YOU HAVE A WEBSITE, YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS!
In order to be the most successful webmaster you can be, and optimize the amount of traffic you get, you must start with having your own domain name AND an excellent web host. Your website must reside on a web server that is considerably fast (so your pages always load quickly) and your web server must be considerably stable (anything less than about 99.5% uptime is going to create BIG problems for you).
Lucky for you, the staff at FastCreeper.com has become quite savvy over the years when it comes to choosing a good web host. You need a web host AND a web hosting plan that is sufficent for your websites needs. For example, trying to get by with a $7.95/month plan when really what your website(s) need is a $150/month dedicated server is going to result in downtime, and possibly suspension of your web hosting account (if it's constantly overloading the server and creating downtime for everyone on that server).
Using a "free" webhost like angelfire.com, googlepages.com, freewebs.com, etc. is not even close to being optimal if you're serious about succeeding online. Many times these "free" hosts require that you show forced popups or other advertisements on your pages, greatly restrict your diskspace and bandwidth usage, and do not allow you to use your own domain name. ALL of these factors are a giagantic downside if your sending tons of free hits to your pages via traffic exchange (or any other means, for that matter). Most exchanges don't allow popups. Sending lots of traffic to your site will eat up your bandwidth fast, resulting in your visitors getting some kind of "bandwidth limit exceeded" message instead of your page - some free hosts even redirect to an error page that breaks out of frames once you've used up your (very small) allotment of bandwidth - a traffic exchange nightmare that you could get your advertising account terminated for. And if you don't own your domain name, you don't experience ANY long term benefits of search engine rank or traffic rank that you work so hard to achieve.

They are extremely well respected because of the high caliber service they provide. This is who we host with ANYTIME we have extremely important websites to host. We CONSISTENTLY get a 5-10 minute turn around time on support tickets, AND we get competent, English speaking support that has yet to fail to help us resolve any issues we have had. With a site as high traffic as FastCreeper.com, this type of support is critical.
What we host FastCreeper (and all of our other exchanges on) is a dedicated server with Intel Quad Core CPU's and 2 GB of RAM. The RAM can be easily upgraded to up to 8 GB with only minimal downtime (obviously, the power to the server has to be cut off before changing out the hardware). As our exchanges grow, upgrading the RAM will be necessary so being able to upgrade without excessive downtime is VERY important to us since we get around 100,000,000 hits per month and any downtime at all will mean lost hits, and lost money. At the present time, our server has a 100% uptime and the network itself has a 99.99% uptime. We have NO complaints. This is the best any avid webmasters and business owners can hope for.
On top of all of this, our server is fast enough to accomodate the delivery of MILLIONS of hits EVERY DAY to our members without choking on the traffic volume. MANY traffic exchanges greatly limit themselves, and their members, by having a server that is too slow, and therefore they end up delivering less than 1/2 as many hits as they could be delivering, which makes for less happy members and lower profits.
We also have TWO 80 GB hard drives to work with, so we can run nightly backups so we can restore our sites from backups without losing too much time, should something catastrophic happen.
Believe it or not, but all of these perks only run us around $250/month. Good luck finding this price anywhere else, ESPECIALLY if you want fully managed support that is of the extreme quality that we get.
In addition to dedicated servers, you also have the option of shared web hosting that starts at $14.95 per month AND includes a free domain name. They also offer Virtual Private Servers (VPS) which may fit the needs of some webmasters that need a little more flexibility than a shared web hosting plan, yet don't need all the power of a dedicated server.
In the event that $14.95 seems like too much money for you to be paying, there are some other web hosts that are VERY, VERY reliable that run slightly cheaper than that. YOU CAN ALWAYS BUY YOUR OWN DOMAIN NAME FOR AROUND $8-10 PER YEAR, REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU HOST WITH. We've personally used ALL of the web hosts mentioned and know for a fact that:
1. They've been in business for years and therefore aren't at all likely to disappear in the middle of the night with your money and your data
2. They have great support with very fast turn around times on support tickets
3. They have FAST AND STABLE SERVERS! This is critical, ESPECIALLY if you're using traffic exchanges, sending LOTS of hits to your pages and need those pages to load FAST.
4. They offer very generous amounts of bandwidth and diskspace, quite likely FAR MORE than you will ever actually need
